Introduction

The purpose of the Technical Services Board is to promote high standards of plumbing engineering. This is achieved by fostering the introduction of new technology, advice on the technical aspects of plumbing and act as a forum for co-ordinating the activities of the Institute with regard to plumbing engineering. There are currently 7 working groups covering many varied areas of interest. All group meetings / seminars are open to all Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering members.

Technical Services frequently receive numerous technical enquiries including FAQ's covering a wide range subjects and advice and further information is provided. The scope and number of technical publications available is constantly being added to. A wide variety of technical literature and publications are available from Head Office including the latest edition of the Plumbing Engineering Services Design Guide, and some publications such as the dataflow sheet series can be accessed and downloaded via the members only area of this web site.

Technical Services are responsible for the development and administration of the Institutes Professional Development (PD) program. All members are encouraged to regularly update their personal professional development plans. Many Industrial Associate members provide PD courses and a full directory of available courses has recently been published.

Technical Services are also responsible for the administration of the Institutes Approved Contractor Person Scheme - Water Regulations.
